Well... I've travelled a bit. I went back to Paris for a while. It was an empty shell of what it used to be. Then I travelled around America for a while. I couldn't stay in one place for very long; as if I were looking for something. I don't know what it was, but I didn't find it...
-forgets his trail of thought, looking at Christian, feeling happier than he has for months-
-says, in an attempt to relieve his mind-
Do I dare ask... did I hurt you?
-hopes Christian will know what he's referring to without having to make it explicit-

-takes another drink and looks into Lestat's eyes-
Hmm. -pauses and must break eye contact to look at his shoes-
Physically, you have never hurt me Lestat, but emotionally, more than I can say.
-thinks of how this will make Lestat feel-
-goes back to him, placing his hand back on his shoulder-
Look Lestat, I know these things are hard, but if I've learned anything in this life, it's that the hardest things that matter most.

-feels his face fall, despite his attempts to remain looking composed-
Yes. So right you are.
-places his hand upon the one Christian has on his shoulder, holding it as if he fears it will disappear at any given moment-
-sounding impulsive as usual, but sure of himself-
Will I see you again after this ball? I must. You must allow me to undo whatever damage I've done. Will you, old friend?

-enjoys the feeling of Lestat's hand on his, just as it used to be-
But of course you will of that is what you want. Lestat, you never have to worry about whether I will be here or not. We've bonded and we're vampires. That means more to us than it does to mere humans. Never doubt that.

-smiles with delight at the answer-
And yet we're far more fragile than those mere humans. To be alone for us; to live with regrets and mistakes, is a far greater cross to bear.
-sighs a little, worrying that he'll do something to ruin the moment-
-laughs as he speaks next; his fangs catching the light briefly-
Are you even real, or have I simply had too much to drink? Will Armand be throwing water over my face next to wake me up from a drunken slumber?
-has a tragic smile on his lips, as if he considers it a real possibility-

-a smirk crawls across his lips once more-
Hm -in a silk voice- are you implying that you dream of me often?
-runs a finger down Lestat's cheek, scraping down his neck with his fingernail, leaving a small trail of blood-
-knows it may be a little explicit, but licks the trail anyway-
Would this be in your dream?

-distractedly, having not expected things to take such an exciting turn so suddenly-
Well... it may or... may not have been.
-fumbles for Christian's waist, gripping his suit in a lustful way-
-leaning to whisper into his ear, his accent growing heavier-
What if I suggested we re-write that dream, with some interesting plot twists?

-lets a little growl out of his throat-
I think I could handle that.

[Time for a sneak-off to one of Marius and Armand's guest bedrooms? xD]

Well... -leans back and begins to adjust Christian's tie/bow tie gently-
If you can find me (and don't follow me - that's cheating), then let the games begin.
-quickly kisses his cheek, before slipping out of the ballroom and down some corridor-
